Clearmate

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 May 2026

Who we are

Clearmate (clearmate.co.uk) is a home cleaning service. You book and pay online, and we arrange a vetted cleaner to carry out the clean. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our site and make a booking, and how we use and protect it.

Information we collect

When you make a booking, we collect:

  • Your postcode and town or area
  • The type of clean you need and details about your home
  • When you would like the clean
  • Your name and phone number
  • Your email address (optional)
  • Any extra details you choose to provide

Card payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details; we receive only a confirmation of payment and a reference. We may also collect limited technical information (such as your browser type and general location) through standard server logs.

How we use your information

  • To take payment and confirm your booking
  • To arrange a vetted cleaner to carry out the clean at your address
  • To contact you about your booking
  • To respond to any questions you send us
  • To monitor and improve our service

Sharing your information

To deliver the clean you’ve booked, we share the details needed to carry it out (such as your address, access notes and what the clean involves) with the cleaner assigned to your booking. We also use trusted service providers to run the service, including Stripe (payments) and Cloudflare (security). They act on our instructions and only receive what they need. We do not sell your personal information.

Legal basis for processing

Under UK data protection law, we process your information to perform our contract with you (taking payment and arranging your clean), and on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving the service. Optional analytics and advertising are used only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How long we keep it

We keep your booking details only for as long as necessary to provide the service and for our reasonable business and legal needs, after which they are deleted.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@clearmate.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies that are required for the site and our booking form to work; these are always on. We also use optional analytics and advertising cookies (see “Analytics and advertising” below), but only after you accept them on our cookie banner. A small cookie remembers your choice so we don’t ask again on every visit, and you can change it at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser.

Analytics and advertising (Google)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tracking to understand how visitors use the site and to measure how well our advertising performs. These tools are off by default: we use Google Consent Mode, so no analytics or advertising cookies are set until you accept them on our cookie banner. If you decline, they stay off.

When you have accepted, this may involve:

  • A Google Analytics cookie (“_ga”) holding a randomly generated identifier, used to recognise your device across pages.
  • Storing Google “click identifiers” (such as “gclid”) from the ad link you arrived through, so a resulting booking can be credited to the right advert.
  • When you make a booking, sending Google a securely hashed (irreversible) form of your email and/or phone number, together with the click identifier, so Google can confirm the advert led to a booking (known as “Enhanced Conversions”). Your details are hashed before they leave our systems and are used only for this conversion measurement.

We rely on your consent for these non-essential cookies and for sharing the hashed data described above. Google processes this information as described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s cookies, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To protect our booking form from automated abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile in invisible (managed) mode. Turnstile analyses signals about your browser environment and interaction with the page to confirm you are a human, and may set short-lived cookies for that purpose. The form content you enter is not shared with Cloudflare. Cloudflare’s processing of the signals it collects is governed by the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum, which forms part of Cloudflare’s wider privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.

Clearmate is a home cleaning service. The price you see is based on the details you provide and is confirmed when you pay; unusual jobs may need a quick adjustment, which we'll always agree with you first.
